Create better lead magnets with these 3 simple tips

So you crafted an awesome lead magnet. Awesome.

But when you put it up, you realize it’s not performing as well as you imagined, and your leads aren’t as high-quality as you’d like them to be.

Lead magnet tips

1) Establish authority. You can offer a unique value or perspective no other brand can, so make sure you do it frequently.

Don’t just curate content. Show why you’re the expert by adding your expert takes, getting engagement and followers, and increasing your authority.

Then, you can use that expertise to attract future leads by offering even more value in your lead magnets.

2) Don’t over explain. When it comes to value, it’s also important not to go too in-depth. Yes, it’s counterintuitive. And yes, it can scare away potential customers.

Furthermore, by revealing too much in your lead magnet, you’re diminishing the enthusiasm of your audience to find out more.

Only add what’s relevant, try to avoid fluff, and don’t use overly complex terms.

3) Branding doesn’t stop after opting in. Your lead magnet should convert a casual browser into an interested party.

… Meaning once you get them to sign up, you should immediately provide more information.

Include important stuff like how they can support you, ideas on how you can collaborate, or where they can see more of your work.

And that’s that. Remember, the work doesn’t stop when you publish the lead magnet. Build it up, provide value—but don’t give away too much, and finally, continue the relationship afterward.
